Police closed Pooley Road in Newcastle while they dealt with the crash but luckily no one has been injured
Two vehicles collided and then struck bollards in an early morning crash in Newcastle.
Police we called to Pooley Road in Slatyford at around 6.30am on Thursday morning following the crash between a Renault Megane car and a white van.
Pictures from the scene show extensive damage caused to the bonnet of the car after the vehicles smashed into the bollards on the street at the junction wiht Boness Road.
The road was closed until around 8am and buses were forced to divert away from the area.
The collision appears to be damage only however and a spokeswoman for the North East Ambulance Service confirmed they did not attend the incident.
