Juice Festival

Juice is a festival for families and under 25s taking place during October half term.

The festival showcases outstanding work created by, for and with under 25s as well as a family friendly programme.

The multi-arts festival for everyone, created with children and under 25s, takes place from Friday 20 - Saturday 28 October.

Many events are free at venues across Gateshead and Newcastle..

Innovative

It begins with an action-packed weekend of events featuring Just Jam's Hip-hop Battle, showcasing a diverse programme of dance styles and innovative new work, a variety of circus delights with 'Circus in the City' including workshops and spectacular performances, a celebration of all things mange with Anime Attacks, and Our Time: an after-hours night at Great North Museum: Hancock inspired by Freedom City 2017, celebrating how young people can take ideas from the past and present to shape the future.

Popping up in cultural venues, libraries and public spaces across Newcastle and Gateshead, you can enjoy exhibitions, performances, workshops, poetry and inclusive events for children, young people and families with additional needs.

Families

Gateshead Central Library is the venue for 'Imagine That' - a free creative day of events for families, exploring stories in new and exciting ways, through story readings, crafts and book making. And for the entire festival the library will also present 'Illustrate', a collection of imagery by Gateshead primary school pupils who have worked with artists inspired by the theme of freedom.

Highlights

Other highlights include a Comics Takeover at Seven Stories with the chance to create your own comic artwork, arts and crafts at Shipley Art Gallery, and What Once Was Ours, a powerful new co-production created with young peopple and combining striking original music and immersive design to explore issues of politics and national values with family life.
