The Newcastle bar's owner has invested in The Wanderer in response to customer demand
Newcastle's popular bar and restaurant The Botanist is going mobile in a new investment being trialled in the city.
The bar's owner the New World Trading Company (NWTC) has added a mobile cocktail bar to its portfolio in response to increased demand from customers, which will see The Botanist take to the road.
Designed to pop-up at events and private functions in the North East and beyond, including weddings and special occasions, the operator of UK pub market brands has created The Wanderer sponsored by Plymouth Gin.
The firm has invested in a Citroen HY van which has been converted to reflect the leisure group's signature style, into a fully-working bar serving cocktails and world ales.
The Wanderer, bookable through the Newcastle website, is being piloted in the Newcastle area with plans to roll similar mobile vans around the country if it proves successful.
Nick Whitby, head of bars at NWTC said: "We get inundated with requests asking if we can provide our cocktails and drinks for private celebrations.
"The Wenderer is perfect for this. The vehicle has been adapted to house a sleek bar but it also promises to deliver our highest standard of award-winning cocktails and drinks no matter where the celebration is, up and down the country."
The Wanderer is sponsorer by Plymouth Gin's owners Pernod Ricard UK.
Magin Trewhella, head of marketing at Pernod Ricard UK, said: "We're delighted to be working with The New World Trading Company to laucnh this innovative and exciting new way for consumers to enjoy Plymouth Gin.
"The Wanderer is a natural fit for the brand as from its inception, the British Royal Navy consumed it on the move.
"We can't wait for even more consumers to experience the super-premium gin in a variety of expertly-made cocktails."
