If your home has a pest infestation, you can report this to the Gateshead Council's customer services.
The Pest Control Team will then contact you to make an appointment.
Gateshead Council's Pest Control Team deal with a wide range of public health pests including rats, house mice, bedbugs, cockroaches and fleas.
The service also provides control of certain nuisance pests such as wasps and a range of beetles and insects.
Here is a list of infestations for which The Gateshead Housing Company will cover the costs:
Infestations of communal areas
Rats (inside a property)
Cockroaches
Wasps' nests, if they are blocking the only access to a property
Blocked vents inside a property
Infestations of wood-boring insects (eg woodworm) inside a property
