Road closures in Newcastle city centre for three days this weekend due to motor show

Newcastle Motor Show takes place this weekend and many roads in the city centre will be closed to traffic over the course of three days

Roads in Newcastle city centre will be closed to traffic this weekend for the NE1 Newcastle Motor Show.

The event takes place around Grey's Monument on Saturday and Sunday, but an array of road closures come into effect from early Friday evening.

From 6pm on Friday, July 7, to 8pm on Sunday, July 9, the following roads will be closed:

Grey Street - between Blackett Street and Mosley Street

Grainger Street - between Nelson Street and Blackett Street

Hood Street - full length

Shakespeare Street - full length

High Bridge - between Pilgrim Street and Grey Street

Deliveries will be facilitated via Shakespeare Street between 6am and 9.30am on Saturday and Sunday.

A taxi loop will be maintained from Shakespeare Street to High Bridge on Friday and Saturday.

The expected maximum duration for the closure will be the three days to accommodate the Newcastle Motor Show.
