Your chance to get involved Newcastle's biggest showpiece - and get paid for it

The Great Exhibition of the North will take over Newcastle and Gateshead in summer 2018 and there are jobs vacancies available.

In summer 2018 eyes will be on Newcastle and Gateshead for the Great Exhibition of the North.

The 10-week celebration of the region's innovation and culture will take over Tyneside between June and September.

It features exhibits, installations, and events at our major venues, with opening and closing ceremonies either side of the programme.

You could be part of it and get paid for the pleasure. The exhibition is advertising roles to work for them.

Innovation Champion

This role will see you working with the executive director and creative producer to ensure the innovation theme runs right through the exhibition.

It is a fixed term role until December 2018.

The application form says: "We are looking for someone who would be excited by the opportunity to be involved in such a major event and is confident dealing with government ministers, leading academics, key business leaders, innovators and a widernage of different SMEs."

You'll be making sure the innovation strand of the expo is delivered to a high quality.

Candidates should be educated to a degree level or have equivalent demonstrable experience.

You must have a background in developing business and innovation focussed content whcih engages, along with a track of working in and with relevant sectors.

Digital Champion

Want to be the person responsible for making sure digital developments are an important part of the festivities?

Then you could be the Great North Exhibition's Digital Champion.

you'll be identifying which northern digital innovations should be shown off for visitors to see.

The job description says: "Digitisation has transformed industry; this is seen at alll levels, from production (where digital tools are transforming the creative process), to distribution (new platforms) and consumption (devices). The Digital Champion will be responsiblefor showing how this happens in the North, wokring with relevant organisations, business, networks and individuals to broker interesting and productive collaborations and create new work or business propositions."

You should be educated to degree level or have equivalent demonstrate experience.

You must have a background in developing digital content.

Volunteer Engagement Manager

Volunteers will help make the expo happen, but there needs to be someone to help organise them.

The Volunteer Engagement Manager will develop and manage a volunteering programme to deliver Great Exhibition of the North that is inclusive and leads to a legacy of a stronger volunteering sector across Newcastle-Gateshead and the wider North."

You'll be responsible for overseeing the recruitment, training and supporting of volunteers, as well as picking them out for awards.

Other tasks include managing budgets and undertaking other support duties of needed.

Requirements include experience working with volunteers, interviewing and working on large scale projects.

Salary £25,500 - £29,500

The contract runs until October 2018

Schools / Young People Engagement Manager

Education is a big part of the exhibition and organisers want to get schools involved. There is also a summer camp in Exhibition Park planned to run alongside events.

You'll be responsible for building relationships with schools in Newcastle-Gateshead and the wider region, to make sure the programme is effectively rolled out.

One aim is for have experience creating and developing inspiring educational content for young people.

Salary: £34,000 - £42,500

Fixed-term conract until October 2018
