Meet the 20 girls vying to be crowned Miss Newcastle 2017

Twenty hopefuls will complete to take the title - and the tiara - at Newcastle Civic Centre on Friday, with the winner competing in Miss England

These are the 20 stunning girls hoping to become Miss Newcastle 2017.

On Friday night, the contestants will take to the stage at the Newcastle Civic Centre in a bid to win the glamorous crown.

The winner will go on to compete for the coveted Miss England title.

And if they get through that stage, they wil enter the Miss World competition which is held in China at the end of the year.

Previous Miss Newcastle winners include Charlotte McIntosh and Vicky Turner.

This year's event marks the 10th anniversary of Tyne Tess Models hosting the event.

Organiser Joseph O'Donnell said: "We have raised over £85,000 in the 10 years we've done it, which is pretty crazy.

"We had over 300 applicants and all the finalists this year have really pushed the boat out and raised a lot of money.

"They really got into the spirit of what the competition is about, helping charities."

Judges for this year's competition include Charlotte, Northumbria University fashion lecturer Christopher Hodge and Barbour vice chairwoman Helen Barbour.

Joseph said: "We have more than 350 guests coming, including friends, family and local businesses, and it will be an amazing night.
