Adderstone Group is working with planners, Ryder Architecture and Lichfields on the grand housing scheme which could create 400 jobs
New designs for a luxury apartment scheme on Newcastle Quayside which could create more than 400 jobs has been submitted by developers Adderstone Group.
The Newcastle-based property firm has submitted updated plans for North Shore, a proposed 124-apartment and commecial scheme on a vacant site next to St Ann's Quay, which would be one of the last to be developed on Newcastle's Quayside.
Working closely with city planners and Newcastle design practice Ryder Architecture, updated designs have been drawn up for the sensitive site, which show a stepped building comprising five towers.
The updated proposals, which have been submitted this week, include 122 two-bed, glassfronted apartments, two one-bed apartments and a 423 sqm commercial unit on the ground floor.
If given the go-ahead, all apartments will have balconies and views across the River Tyne towards Baltic and The Sage Gateshead.
The proposed scheme is also includes a number of private roof gardens and quayside level gardens, and "significant " investment will be put into the landscaping of the existing embankment.
Within the updated scheme, provision has been made 151 car parking spaces, wight of which will be accessible spaces, and 100 cycle bays for residents
Comprehensive economic research has been carried out for the scheme by planning and development specialists Lichfields, which estimates that more than 400 jobs would be created as a result of the scheme - 160 during construction and 240 thrugh the supply chain.
It's also estimated that the scheme would contribute £2.7m GVA in economic output as well as £676,000 in new homes bonus payments over four years and £185,000 in council tax revenues per year for Newcastke City Council.

North Shore tops off a pipeline of £150m worth of projects being progressed by Adderstone Group. The proposed pipeline also includes a 51-house residential scheme, to be known as Christon Park, on brownfield land which was the site of the original Greggs Bakery headquarters in Gosforth, Newcastle, which will be heard by the planning committee in June.
