IT'S BACK! Epic Live From Times Square Event Returns To Tyneside Summer 2017

Jake Bugg, James & Hacienda Classical Announced As Headliners

Jake Bugg

After a successful summmer of music last year, Live From Times Square is returning to Newcastle with performances from indie legends James, Jake Bugg, Hacienda Classical, Manic Street Preachers and Brian Wilson with special guests- who is the latest to be announced.

Taking place in Newcastle City Centre in July and August 2017, Live From Times Square will see two weeks of electrifying live music taking place in the heart of Newcastle.

The organisers, SSD Concerts have pulled out all the stops this year in order to raise their game further, promising this will be the city festival of the year.

Jake Bugg, arguably the most exciting male singer / songwriters to come out of the UK in recent times will perform a headlining spot on the main stage on Thursday 27th July and will be swiftly followed by indie royalty in the form of one of Manchester's proudest exports, James, on Saturday 29th July.

Following great critical acclaim and phenomenal demand FAC 51 The Hacienda and Manchester Camerata - the city's experimental orchestra - are bringing back Hacienda Classical in 2017 with a brand new soundtrack in what will be their first Newcastle appearance on Friday 4th August.

Described by NME as the "The best rave since 1997. A night of soaring synth riffs, euphoric dropd, massive tunes," Hacienda Classical is set a new benchmark for a live show with DJ's, singers and orchestra, and we're still buzzing from entertaining so many people with it. We're making the show even better for 2017 - it's going to be epic!"

On 5th August Manic Street Preachers are next to perform at our city festival, followed swiftly by Brian Wilson presents Pet Sounds, performing with a number of special guests including seasick Steve and Martha Reeves & the Vandellas among others.

Steve Davis, of SSD Concerts, explains: "After the success of last year we were determined to maintain the momentum and give the region's music fans something bigger and better. It's not easy pulling a city centre gathering of this size together but we are really happy with the line-up and the additional shows which are still to be announced. The atmosphere and crowd reaction from last year's shows are memories we'll never forget. the city was buzzing and that's what we want next year.
